I guess the runway isn’t the only thing that fashion editors, and critics are looking at. Street style is the hottest thing at NYFW.
Twice a year all the fashion obsessed band together and go to New York, London, Paris and Milan to get a glimpse of what is to come out in next six months, but in the past few years the amazing sighting isn't only on the runways, it’s also on the streets. Fashion editors, bloggers, or even models have been wearing the hottest trends of the season while darting from fashion show to fashion show, giving fashion newbies or even fashion confusies of what to wear this season.

One trend being seen all over the streets is the minimalist look as shown by Hayley Phelan. Being one of my personal favorites it can be nailed every time and only requires basics: a neutral button-down or structured top and some tailored bottoms. Who has time to look through an entire closet of colorful clothing to pick out an outfit when you can get two basics in that can be easily found in your closet. The only problem: looking too professional. To make sure that doesn’t happen make sure the blouse isn’t so structured and that it hands loose on the body or wear tapered pants so that it doesn’t give the impression of slacks.
What’s next? Let’s just say the single color outfit that will (hopefully) never go away. Model Caroline de Maigret shows us how to rock the one color trend by wearing black skinnies with a black top, jacket and oxfords. If the look is pulled off correctly it will give the wearer an effortlessly chic vibe perfect for running around the town (maybe for New York Fashion Week), and doing business.
As NYFW comes to an end, people are preparing for the other fashion weeks in Europe. Wonder what’s next? For more on NYFW Street Style click here.
