The First Lady is paving a way for aspiring designers by holding a workshop at the White House to help them start out in the industry.
October 8th is the date set for young designers to walk into the White House and get a lesson for one of the most influential style icons in the world, Michelle Obama, and the ties that she has in the fashion industry. Her acts in assisting an aspiring designers began when she wore a dress created by Jason Wu to the inauguration balls in 2009 and 2013 that are continued to be raved about.
It is confirmed that Maria Cornejo, and Reed Krakoff among others will be attending the workshop to offer their career advice to the attendees. All the designers will present their speeches in a five hour period which will only be a small portion compared to all the advice that is in the industry, but when it comes to the fashion industry professionals it’s definitely worth it.
